One of the most common inquiries we have had recently here in our pharmacy are people looking for medications that are hard-to-find or on backorder. Luckily, despite the ongoing

medication shortages this holiday season, you still have options:

Contact pharmacies or your healthcare provider:

They may have information on when the medication will be available again or may be able to suggest alternative medications or treatment options. Independent and local pharmacies may have access to medications that some of the big-box stores don't. So make sure to include local pharmacies in your search!

Consider using a pharmacy with delivery services:

Some pharmacies offer delivery services which may be a convenient way to have your hard-to-find med delivered to your door.

Find a compounding pharmacy:

Did you know that when a medication is not available, your local pharmacy may be able to compound (make) that medication specifically for you. Find out if your pharmacy compounds and ask them about your medications today. If your currently pharmacy doesn't compound, give us a call!

Consider switching to a different medication in the same class:

If the medication you need is not available, your healthcare provider may be able to prescribe a similar medication in the same (or similar) class, which may be more readily available.
